Securing passwords in Sphider

Hi,

Fogive me, but I am new to Sphider and SQL and I could not find anything on this topic. I have managed to get Sphider installed and working but I am confused about Sphider/SQL password security. I see that the Sphider admin page password and SQL password are stored in files that are uploaded to the server during Sphider installation. Are these files and passwords accessible to anyone on the web? What is the best practice for keeping others from viewing these passwords hosted on the server once Sphider is installed and setup?

In your editor create a file with the following content:

#
# 1. Prevent listing of files in this folder
#
Options -Indexes
#
#
# 2. Prevent processing of scripts
#
Order deny,allow
Deny from all
#

Name this file
.htaccess
and place it into the folder to be protected.
