Large searches
June 19, 2015 10:39PM
I have over 5000 pages of data to search. When I do a full index or even one to a depth of 2,3, or even 10 it only looks at 116 pages. HELP???

Questions:
- Did you install Sphider on a 'Shared Hosting' server?
- For re-indexing, the procedure stops always exactly after 116 pages?
- Always the same URL, or randomly?
- Does indexation 'die' silently, or is there any message on your monitor at the end?

It's installed on my own server. And yes, one URL (domain) is all that's searched. As for stopping suddenly.. usually takes 30 to 60 seconds. I've tried everything and it still won't search an archive folder wherein I have 300 pages.

In your first post you wrote: 'When I do a full index . . .'
In your second post you wrote: 'and it still won't search an archive folder . . .'
I suppose you still suffer from an indexing problem, as stated in your first post.

Looks like a restriction, which is caused by your server settings. For example have a look at the PHP environment and find the script
php.ini.
Increase the value at row
max_execution_time=30
Reset your server. If afterwards you still suffer from your issue, there might be another server limitation.

In any case there is no limitation in the Sphider scripts. Asking again:
- Does indexation 'die' silently, or is there any message on your monitor at the end?

Sorry, my mistake. I should have written:

Restart your server.
