Apostrophe in serach

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has come accross or has a fix for the following .....

In the search if you type in a serach query with an Apostrophe such as .... I'm a little teapot

The serach does not return any results, however you do get the following suggestion
Did you mean: I'm a little teapot?

As you will notice the suggestion is the same as the serach query. What I would have expected is for the record to be found in the search results and not in the suggestion.

To me it looks like the search is having a problem with an apostrophe in the query? Can anyone help?

If this is not clear you can try the above example on the following website url http://www.lanterntree.com/sphider/lanterntreesearch.php

Cheers

See ../include/common.txt and ../include/commonfuncs.php

If it doesn't solve your problem see the "y" discussion in a close future.

Hi,

Thanks but that does not resolve the issue.

Another example is searching for the word wouldn't

When the word wouldn't is searched for, no result are found (however there are many instances of this word that should be found).

When I press the search button the follwing is displayed in the search text box wouldn't

It looks like the sphider replaces ' with ' (which would seem to be the correct thing to do)

However I have read in a few places that ' does not work with IE . Can anyone confirm or reject this?

Anyone with any further thoughts?
