This probably means that Sphider cannot access the server.

I added the 'Follow Sitemap.xml' mod to my version, and I get this same NOHOST error when I try to re-index my site but nothing has changed.

As long as something has changed in my sitemap, then the error does not appear... basically the NOHOST error just tells me that nothing has changed at all (according to the sitemap). Not sure if this applies to your situation andrzej.

check for spaces after or before the url
what i did was extracting the sites from my MYSQL database and looked for all the spaces
check and remove and re-spider

Try putting the http:// before the domain name

The likely issue is that if you get a NOHOST it's because when you added a Site URL to be indexed, it had a space or spaces before or after the URL. I do not understand why this simple functionality of stripping spaces was not included in the application, but it needs to be included in a future update by the author. I have accidentally included spaces a few times already.

Sphider 1.3.5

1. [mysite.com]
2. [www.mysite.com]
... nothing. Perhaps the problem of hosting?

Regards.

This error message indicates that the host file transfer program could not be executed or you need to remove the www before the url to index. If the file cannot be executed, it means the sites file permissions are set like that just like some sites do not allow right clicks or View Source.
