rel="nofollow" is not being respected by sphider

I have a website and in which I want to restrict sphider to no index few of the URLs in their index. I have added rel="nofollow" in the anchor tag of those URLs. Sphider is still indexing those URLs. Please suggest how we can achieve the objective.
