Help with search direction of search

I would like to know if it is that I can tell the spider search and index only in a certain direction, for example:

www.xxx.com/docs or www.xxx.com/xxx/docs only.doc files

Yes, you may do so. By means of the site option 'URLs must include:'
You may add the folder name containing the documents you intend to index. In your case add '/docs' (without quotations) into the field 'URLs must include'
But be aware that all files found in this folder will become indexed.
