adding a zipcode feature

Has anyone tackled a zip code feature. I would like to have people add their zip code to their site form. This way when someone is searching a business they can see if it's available locally.

I think this is a good idea, but you also need to look at neighboring zips or similar as well.

What may work well with this is to capture the zip, and deliver results based on the following priority / rank:
1. Keyword Match + Exact Zip
2. Keyword Match + City (extracted from zip)
3. Keyword Match + State (extracted from zip)
