Multiple database - 2 years ago

Anybody have an idea on how to: make one sphider search and crawl multiple database or make three or more sphiders search contribute to the same multiple databases and produce one search result obtaining from those multiple databases. Trying to make Ando's little sphider a tarantula!

I am revisiting this forum again. There is no support team in this sphider forum. We just kind of help each other, if you have a good idea. I do not have a problem indexing PDF files. Make sure you have installed little software suggested by the author (Ando) and configure it right in the server. Review the documentation again. Does anybody knows how to create a pagination script for the admin site result? I created one and it showing the pagination as: Main | Last Page <<<< Prev | 2 | 4 | 6 | Next >>>> However, it doesn't cut off the site list by page. I still have to make a long scroll to see the long list of websites indexed. Thanks a bunch?

Read install.txt again. Using the shell command to index is working great!

Okay, you got me on that! What is this special webiste that really makes your hairs fall out? I mean we all caught exactly the same breed of sphider from Andou's cave, and my llittle sphider is indexing fine. I didn't change anything with my sphider script. Perhaps, it doesn't read .htm but .html...Like I posted in your previous posted topic, try re-uploading the sphider.php and see what happens. I did encountered a lot errors and I seemed to figure things out by trial and error. Re-uploading the scripts in the same folder where your sphider's whole script is located may help. It did to mine.

You mean under the title? just go to your html code and look for: <title>Sphider Admin</title> change it to: <title>BrainDead (whatever) </title> That would do...I am sure.

We all downloaded exactly the same sphider script. What makes yours so different? You must have done something.... Start looking for another spider somewhere.

Andou's sphider doesn't think. It's a stupid robot. It does only what it was told. So to make it act the way you want it to think, strip the script and add whatever you can to make it to work like a tarantula!

that means it only indexed one page: the main domain with no links because THE PAGES ARE LESS THAN 10 WORDS.

< Andou is the developer of the Sphider script.... Hence, my response. For short, I wish and the rest could help. I have posted some of my issues and NOT ONE HELPED me. I struggled -- search up and down the internet on my own in search for an ansswer. I finally figured things out by myself after taking a long look at the scripts (not just looking blankly) but doing some abstract unders

I didn't create tables. It was automatic after installation (uploading of files). Just reread the instruction here on how to upload it to your webserver.

If you think you are not being help or getting any support, I suggest you need to figure things out as the script is free of use. It is like you are invited to a party and eat for free. I also suggest to visit another website which has also a search engine script for FREE written in PERL. Add pages to admin after adding index sites? - 3 years ago

How do we add more pages to the admin page when more sites were index? Just like in the result page, it shows page 1, 2, etc... Anybody please? I am wondering if this forum is getting useful as I noticed a lot of people are asking questions and never get any answers. People are left hanging in the balance.

If you are trying to change the admin login, then change the css of the template (dark or standard). You upload the css there. But if you want to change the inside content of admin template then you gotta upload the css to the admin folder. Change the admin.css of whatever you have downloaded from that website. But you gotta be careful in uploading, because it is not simply uploading stuff.
